Fleet Food Festival
On Sunday the 28th
May this year
Fleet & District Festival committee will be promoting another
major event “The 2017 Fleet Food Festival”. This event was a great success in
2016 with over 7,100 attendees during the day. One area they would like to
improve upon was lack of Tea & Coffee stalls, there was only one and in the
morning and they had 45-minute-long queues!
been invited to run a teas, coffees and soft drinks stall with a particular
focus on fairtrade and “coffee with a conscience”. This will be run as a commercial venture, but
will also provide an opportunity to raise LivingStones profile and generally be
a blessing to the people of Fleet. Other
than the Lions, we are the only charity and representative of Fleet and
Crookham Churches together, to have a pitch at this event.
The gates will be open
to the public at 10am and we intend to be promoting Karuna Coffee, a new line
that we will soon be selling at LivingStones. Karuna Coffee is sourced from the
charity Karuna Action and is a tool used by the charity to break the cycle of poverty
in the lives of those they work with. 100% of the profits from every bag sold
goes back into the projects that the charity Karuna Action supports.
We are now seeking volunteers as we will need 3 teams of servers and
coffee makers serving in three shifts:
- 10.00 AM - 12.00
- 12.00 – 2.00PM
- 2.00 PM – 4.00 PM
Ideally, we would like 4 servers in a
team and 2 coffee makers so the total number of volunteers will be 18 or fewer
if you are happy to do a double shift.
